Nonagenarian advises women against emotion outburst

Mrs Elizabeth Okafor, nonagenarian in Enugwu-Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra on Tuesday, advised women, especially ones, to eschew outburst in their emotions.

The rate at which some women conducted themselves in public, on issues relating to emotions, left to be desired, adding that the development had exposed them to public ridicule.

“Women are supposed to be embodiment of beauty and character and model to the old and young in the society, all time, ‘’ she said

Okafor, who attributed the high rate of debased character of some women to modern life, reminded them that they were special creation of God with the ability to procreate.

“Women are special creation of God and with the gift of giving birth to life, they need to be appreciated and honoured.’’

The woman leader was reacting to the recent video of a woman that was stripped naked and went on social media on an allegation on amorous dealing.

Report has it that the woman was beaten severally on allege emotional affair with another woman’s husband.

Reflecting on memory lane, the nonagenarian said that in the past, issues relating to such matter were discreetly treated, leaving all parties happier.

According to her, the approach to such issues, nowadays, brings more problems rather than solving them..

Okafor said mothers had more work to do in the life of their girl-child by inculcating in them moral values.

She also said mothers needed to make their daughters realise that, women should apply caution in handling any type of challenge facing them.

“It is a taboo for a woman to fight in the public, not to talk of fighting in the market place.

“The video on social media is a market place and is wrong to smear one’s identity in that manner.

“My domestic attendants were talking about it and watching the video clips when I interrupted them, I was amazed that such can happen.

“It is a taboo for a woman to have humiliated a fellow woman to the point of beating her like dog and embarrassing her family, it is not a woman like attitude.‘’

Okafor called on the government to make laws that would guard against such act and be firm on the penalty for defaulters.

Recently, a short but viral video of a woman stripped naked and was beaten by a fellow woman trended on the social media.

The victim reported the case to the Police which led to the arrest of three suspects.
