An accused person, Iwaetan Segun, who is currently on remand at the correctional center in Ado-Ekiti, was on Thursday rearraigned over other charges.
Segun was rearraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court over alleged burglary and stealing, to which he was also ordered to be remanded at the same correctional center.

The accused, whose address was not given, is being tried for alleged burglary and stealing.
Supreme reports that the accused was on Feb. 17 arraigned over alleged rape of a 20-year-old girl, cultism and unlawful possession of firearm and was remanded at the correctional centre.
The case of rape was adjourned to March 31 for mention.

The prosecutor, Insp. Bankole Olasukanmi, told the court that the accused committed the offence of burglary and stealing on Jan. 16 at about 12:00 a.m at Immigration road in Ado-Ekiti.
Olasukanmi alleged that the defendant burgled the house of one Olayemi Oyerinde and stole his property.
He said the offences contravene Sections 31 of the Child Right Laws of Ekiti State 2012, 3 of Robbery and Firearms Act 2004, 411 and 390(9) of Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

The prosecutor urged the court to remand the defendant in the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
The plea of the defendant was not taken.
The Magistrate, Mrs Modupe Oshundina, ordered the remand of the accused at the correctional centre, pending issuance of legal advice.
She adjourned the case until March 31 for mention.
