The Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (PPA) has issued new guidelines for registration, as well as renewal and upgrade of registration of contractors, suppliers and consultants with the agency.

The General Manager of PPA, Mr Fatai Onafowote, said in a statement on Tuesday, that the guidelines were to ensure the ease of doing business, particularly during the partial lockdown to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Onafowote said that government must continue to provide services to the people in spite the partial lockdown.

He said this led to the development of a creative system that would enable existing and potential contractors, suppliers and consultants to continue transactions with the government.

The general manager said that the guidelines, therefore, provided details of the steps for registration, renewal or upgrade by contractors, suppliers and consultants of the agency.

He said that the law made it mandatory for contractors, suppliers and consultants to register for eligibility to participate in bids for the award of contracts in any Ministry, Department or Agency (MDA) of the state government.

Onafowote said that the guidelines also listed the steps to follow for the payment of Development Levy, Administrative and Agreement fees.

He said that details of the Guidelines and the Payment Categorisation Tables could be accessed on the agency’s Website: www.lagosppa.gov.ng.
