The Creative Industry Group (CIG), an advocacy group for Nigerian artistes, has pledged collaboration with Messengers of Peace (MOP), an NGO, to promote peace among artistes in the country.

Felix Duke, President of CIG, told Newsmen on Saturday in Lagos that there was need to encourage a healthy synergy amongst artistes to boost the industry. He told Newsmen that CIG had signed partnership agreement with MOP in this regard.which has Dr Sulaiman Adejor as its national president.

“The CIG is looking forward to working in partnership with MOP towards boosting a healthy atmosphere amongst artistes and other stakeholders in the industry.“We will endeavour to play our part and contribute our quota to attain the needed peace even beyond the creative industry.“We are ready to render our services in the area of expertise and coverage to support and promote the great vision of the MOP which is needed in our society,” he said.

Speaking on the initiative, Dr Sulaiman Adejor, National President of MOP, said that the partnership with CIG, was to further spread the message of peacefull coexistence. He noted that there should be better coordination between artistes and producers, directors and script writers, even between the various production groups.“The group stands as an advocacy platform, passionate about lending its voice and helping those who fall below the line in the creative industry which we very much appreciate.

“The unnecessary disagreements between stakeholders need to be addressed and that is what we are out to do,” he said.According to him, the partnership was fashioned to strengthen the need for core competence through mentorship and an adequate synergy which only the expertise embedded in MOP organisation can offer.

He added that the MOP would also use its network to create an enabling environment for the CIG to equally record meaningful achievements in its set aims and objectives. The MOP president noted that the body would be giving out its customised vehicle licensed plate number to awardees during the 2020 National Peace Award event slated November 12 in Abuja.
