Envoy suggests innovative spirit to address China-U.S. relations issues

Chinese Ambassador to the United States, Qin Gang on Friday says “innovative spirit” is required to address thorny issues in the China-U.S. relations.

Gang said in a virtual remark at the High-Level Meeting of Bloomberg New Economy Forum.

“We need a new vision, new thinking and new methodology.

“China will act to open up a path of national renaissance and peaceful development,” Gang said.

The envoy said both countries needed to show broad vision and shoulder great responsibilities to stabilize relations.

He advised the U.S. to stay committed to peaceful development and work with China to bolster relations based on mutual respect and win-win cooperation.

“Over the past several years, the China-U.S. relationship has gone through tremendous changes, it cannot return to the past anymore.

“We have to face the reality, look to the future, think out of the box, create new institutions and methods,” he said.

Gang said that a new dimensions for China – U.S. engagements need to be opened up.
