A Jos-based philanthropist, Mr Alex Ladan, on Monday urged Nigerians to embrace peace and hard work for the unity, development and progress of the nation.

Ladan made the call during a courtesy call on the District Head of Ampang-West in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau,Mr Pius Mutle-Finok, as part of his Foundation’s ongoing Medical Outreaches across the 11 Districts of the area.

Ladan, who is the Chairman of Alex Ladan Foundation, lamented the spate of discord being sowed by enemies of peace and unity and called for a change of heart by perpetrators for peaceful coexistence and development.

“If we believe in this nation and wish to progress as a nation, then there is need for unity in diversity.

“We just have to believe in ourselves and come together for the betterment of our communities by offering our best to humanity which will metamorphose into growth and development,” he said.

He explained that his medical outreach willingly introduced by his foundation, was a wake-up call to the patriotic and wealthy individuals in the society to hugely invest in humanitarian services with what God had blessed them to put a smile on people’s faces.

Ladan, who was also the Plateau Governorship candidate of Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN) in the 2019 general elections, disclosed that more than 300 medicated and curative Eye Glasses would be distributed to people with eye challenges within the district during the medical outreach.

He commended the district head for the relative peace being enjoyed in the district, which he attributed to the good Leadership quality being displayed by the traditional council.

He also appreciated the traditional council for hosting the entire medical outreach team in his domain.

Responding, Mutle-Finok expressed delight at seeing a young man like Ladan undertaking such a huge philanthropic and humanitarian service in his domain and for the people of the state.

While appreciating the gesture and wishing the foundation more success, the district head wished for the society to have more of the likes of Ladan to augment government development strides.

Supreme reports that in addition to the medical outreach, guidance and counseling sessions are to be freely offered to young boys and girls of between 12 and 18 years of age on how to achieve their respective dreams in life.
