Ochayi said after the defendant was sacked she was asked to return all company’s property in her possession but she refused and she denied the company access to their properties for several months.

A dismissed member of staff of a company, Dorcas Olanipekun, was on Thursday docked in an Upper Area Court, Karu, Abuja for allegedly threatening her former employer's life.

The police charged Olanipekun who lives in Danjuma Estate, Dutse, Abuja, with criminal breach of trust, criminal intimidation and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Edwin Ochayi, told the court that sometime in May, the defendant a staff of Skystep group of Companies, was sacked by her boss due to her low performance.

Ochayi said after the defendant was sacked she was asked to return all company's property in her possession but she refused and she denied the company access to their properties for several months.

Ochayi said that the defendant went ahead to threaten the life of the complainant who is the operations manager of the company.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 312, 397 and 288 of the Penal Code.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Mr Hassan Mohammed, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two reasonable sureties who must live within court jurisdiction.

Mohammed ordered that the surety address must be verified by the court officer and the police officer and National I.D card must be kept at the court.

He also ordered the defendant to write an undertaking to maintain peace.

Mohammed, therefore, adjourned the case until Oct. 31 for further hearing.
