Prof. Abdullahi Tukur, the Vice Chancellor, Modibbo Adama University (MAU) Yola, says the institution is set for the new conventional status as more management courses will be introduced soon.

Tukur stated this while fielding questions from newsmen on Thursday in Yola.

He disclosed that arrangements had been completed to convert the institution from a technology-based university to a conventional institution.

“We are 100 per cent ready to face the new conventional status as more management courses would be introduced soon.

“The hostel accommodation is readily available for our students,” he said.

Tukur stated that a committee is working on the nomenclature of courses and its duration as it applies to a conventional university.

He maintained that the university has concluded arrangements for establishment of a medical college; as the resources are already on the ground for the smooth takeoff.

The vice chancellor added that contractors would soon be mobilised to the site for the construction of administrative block, two lecture theatres and two laboratories for the new college.

He expressed gratitude to the TETFUND for its interventions regarding 2018, 2019 and 2020 grants.
