NASFAT urges improved security

 The Nasiru lahil Li Faith Society (NASFAT) has felicitated with Nigerians on the 2021 Eid -el- Kabir celebration, urging improved security in the country.

The faith based prayer group in a Sallah message in Lagos on Tuesday, signed by its Publicity Secretary,  Mr AbdulAkeem Yusuf the feast would be a source of happiness to every Nigerian home.

The organisation which prayed for Allah’s protection on the nation during and after the festival; called on governments at all levels to improve security in the society to foster nation building.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Nigerian Muslim faithful joined others across the world to mark thr Eid-el-Kabir season, as the Federal Government declared Tuesday and Wednesday public holidays to enable people celebrate the festival and bond with family members.

NASFAT President, Alhaji Olaniyi Yusuf, who congratulated Muslims for the feast; thanked Allah for making them witness the 2021 celebration.

According to him, this is the period has been described as the best of the days in the sight of Allah and should be savoured.

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.

“The last of these 10 days is the Eid day where we observe the eid prayer, listen to the sermon, sacrifice animals and feed the needy.

“The situation in the world calls for sober reflections.

“There is need for us to take heed from the life lessons of one of the great personalities this festival revolved around, Prophet Ibrahim, for the importance he attached to life,” he said.

It further said that the Chief Missioner of the group, Imam Abdul- Azeez Onike, said the Deen of Islam attached importance to safety of lives and property.

He noted that,  Salat, as compulsory and structured as we know it, was  allowed to be done in a special way different from the normal situation, in peculiar moments, so as not to compromise safety of lives and property.

He called on government at all levels, traditional and religious leaders and all concerned stakeholders to join efforts to improve the security situation in the country and intensify efforts to secure the lives and property of all persons irrespective of their locations in Nigeria.

“We also need to use this occasion to pray for succor for the people in Europe and other parts of the world, who have suffered various  degrees of deaths and damages arising from the recent deadly floods.

“The dreaded COVID-19 Delta variant which impact is spreading so fast.

“As a people,  we need  to adopt and maintain all the health protocols which the authorities have set for us and also get vaccinated; as such measures will stop the spread of the virus,” he  said.

Onike prayed for the unity and progress in Nigeria.

He advised warring groups to lay down arms to enable the leadership of the country focus on projects with positive bearing on lives of citizens  such as improved health, education, advancement of the power sector and job creation.
