The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has expressed concern over increasing number of fake Facebook accounts and other social media handles displaying the name of the Academy.A statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna by the Academy Public Relations Officer,

Major Abubakar Abdullahi, cautioned the general public against being defrauded by handlers of the fake sites. Some of these unofficial handles include “NDA Kaduna Videos” and “NDA Cadets” among others, that transmit various messages and images with the sole intent of deceiving members of the public and achieving their various nefarious goals, the statement added.

“We hereby denounce these fake social media accounts and strongly advise the general public to desist from having any official interaction with them. “Pleases note that NDA maintains only one official Facebook and one Twitter handle viz: @DefenceAcademyNG and @HQ_NDA respectively.“The general public is further advised to please disregard any information emanating from such fake accounts and report the operators to the NDA Military Police or any nearest authority.”
