The Northern Governors’ Forum has congratulated the Governor of Katsina, Aminu Masari, on his 70th birthday.
The Chairman of the Forum and Governor of Plateau, Simon Lalong, in a congratulatory message by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham, on Thursday in Jos, described Masari as an “accomplished politician.”
Lalong said Masari has continued to serve Nigeria with all the energy, passion and zeal in him, saying that he remained a repository of wisdom and institutional memory for the Forum, especially on matters that related to the legislature.
He said the quality was because of his antecedents, having served for many years as a legislator and rose to become Speaker of the House of Representatives between 2003 and 2007.
“We are very happy to be associated with this humane, simple, and principled gentleman who exudes dignity, humility and all-inclusiveness in his approach to all National issues.
“He is a symbol of unity within the Northern Governors’ Forum and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.
Lalong urged Masari to continue to use his wealth of experience in promoting the unity, peace and progress of Nigeria and to consolidate democracy in the country.
He prayed that the almighty God would grant him more years in sound health, divine protection and favour as he continues to serve the people of Katsina State and Nigeria.
Supreme reports that Gov. Masari was born on May 29, 1950.
