Delta and Edo have continued their dominance of the powerlifting event at the ongoing 20th National Sports Festival (NSF), Edo 2020.

Supreme, reports that both states have won nine and six medals, respectively, from the male and female powerlifting event.

So far 13 powerlifting event categories have been concluded, with the Delta female team winning gold medals in the 67KG and 79KG categories, while their male counterparts won gold in 72KG and 59KG.

The Delta women also won two silver medals in 73KG and 61KG categories as well as bronze medal in the 49KG category, while the male team won two Bronze medals in the 49KG and 54KG categories.

For the host state, the female team came first in the 50KG, 54KG and 73KG categories, while also winning the silver medals in the 45KG and 55KG categories.

The Team Edo powerlifting event for the male saw the host winning gold in 54KG and bronze in the 59KG category.

The Oyo State male team clinched the first and second positions in the 49KG and also silver medals in the 59KG, 65KG and 72KG categories.

Their female team could only salvage a bronze medal in the 50KG.

Supreme also reports that other states that claimed gold in the powerlifting event are: Rivers, Ogun, Abia, Enugu and Osun States.
