O.B.LULU BRIGGS : A SUN LIGHT TO THE KALABARI KINGDOM

Death is an inevitable and necessary end that must come when it will come; it is also a denominator that neither the old nor the young ; the good nor the bad; the rich nor the poor , the fat and the slim must embrace. Death does not decimate in terms of who to embrace; even to the sick and healthy it does the same thing; and to the tall and short it treats equally.

Against this backdrop, death has left an indelible mark in the hearts of many.The glorious home call of our dearly beloved OPUDA as fondly called created a vacuum in the Kalabari kingdom . I can not argue the truth that OPUDA lived a life of sacrifice and total service to humanity. It can not be denied that in Kalabari Kingdom , there also exist men and women of great rank and opulence, neither can it be concealed that there are thousands who perhaps, from circumstances of unavoidable calamity and misfortune, are reduced to the lowest of poverty and distress .

In solidarity to the second category, High Chief (Dr.) O.B. Lulu Briggs OON, DCF, DSSRS established the “CARE FOR LIFE” program rendering them every kind support which justice and mercy may require. As a man of great human feeling , OPUDA did not content himself with literal discharge of the duties of man, but raised and dignified them to magnanimity. The whole of his conduct was guided by the noblest sentiments of his own heart; a true moral rectitude is the uniform rule of his actions and a just praise and appropriation his due reward. I pray his good deeds to mankind shall gain him a meritorious place in Heaven.

May God bless and comfort his beloved family , and indeed the Kalabari kingdom.
