Over 400 Students in Public and Private schools get scholarship from NGO in Niger State

Mr Emmanuel Ezewuiro, President, Shiloh Global Development Empowerment Foundation, a NGO, on Thursday said that the foundation has awarded scholarship to over 400 indigent students in Niger State.

Ezewuiro said this at a 6th inauguration scholarship award in Niger State.

He said that the 400 students were from different four primary and secondary private schools in the state.

He said that the organisation had awarded scholarships to over 1,000 students in various schools in the FCT and nationwide.

The foundation president also said that the organisation had organised various programmes on entrepreneurship, adding that the effort was to empower people on different skill acquisitions.

According to him, the organisation intends to give hope to those who have no hope, but have zeal and passion to achieve global great excellence.

Ezewuiro said that the organisation had not accessed any fund or financial support from any government, both federal and local as well as international bodies.

He, therefore, called on government from all levels, other relevant stakeholders and international organisations to support the foundation to achieve its goals.

He, however, advised the students to work hard and desist from any ugly act that could prevent them from achieving their dreams.

“As a student, poverty can limit your potential for greatness.
“Laziness, bad association, drug abuse and disobedience to parents and school authorities can lead to your greatness to be aborted,” he advised.

Ezewuiro said that one of the objectives of the foundation was to reduce or eradicate poverty and hunger in the country.

Mr Joseph Ediale, the Proprietor, Comprehensive College, one of the schools that benefited from the foundation‘s scholarship, said that he was grateful to God for the great privilege given to the school.

Ediale advised the students to be committed to their studies to enable them become leaders of tomorrow.

Miss Rejoice James, a JSS 2 student of the comprehensive college said that she was happy to be one of the awardees.

“I thank the president of the foundation whom God used to change our story, today is a day that I cannot forget in my life.

“I am 16 years old and have been out of school for the past years because I don’t have anybody to train me.

“May Almighty God bless Mr Ezewuiro and his entire family, I promise to study my books so that all my dreams will be achieved.

“I will make sure not to disappoint him, the school authority and my country Nigeria,” she said.
