The just concluded 10-day Queen Moremi Ajasoro (QMA) musicals held in Lagos and graced by no less than 8,000 viewers is a cultural boost to the country.

A cultural ambassador, Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, who disclosed this to Newsmen added that the organisers would soon embark on an international tour with the team. .

Ademiluyi said that the show directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters at the Terra Kulture Arena from Dec. 21, 2018 to Jan. 2, 2019 projected the African culture positively to the international community.

Ademiluyi, who was the event’s executive producer, added that 22 shows were presented during the period and no fewer than 400 viewers attended each of the shows.

She said that though the show had ended, it would be sustained through a cultural journey into a global audience.

“Queen Moremi’ Ajasoro’s musical show has not ended, this is just the beginning of an evergreen phenomenal musical.

“During the Easter celebration coming up in April, we shall start our global tour.

“We shall be taking our cultural pride to the United Kingdom, (UK), the United States of America (USA) and other African countries,” she said.

She noted that the creativity of Austen-Peters in the performance with the selected cast, artistic costumes and the creativity in the musicals were a show of professionalism.

According to her, my aim of turning the story of QMA into musicals has been fulfilled because it got the desired attention it deserved.

Ademiluyi, also the founder of Africa Fashion Week, Nigeria/ London, said that those who attended the shows did so enthusiastically.

“Most of the millennials that attended the shows loved them so much as they learnt many things about our history that they had no idea about before then.

“They had a huge cultural and political impact on the attendees because they learnt from the story of the legendary QMA what it takes to be courageous.

They also learnt the love, sacrificial leadership, power and strength of patriotic woman that lived about 1,000 years ago,” she said.

Ademiluyi added that the millennials also learnt about Moremi’s charisma and how it could inspire more young women to be selfless, leave their comfort zone to assist others to solve their problems.

“The story of Moremi tells us of the benefit of sacrifice, by allowing herself to be captured as a prisoner for the love of her people, and that brought them liberation till today,” she said.

She acknowledged the contributions of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi who initiated the show for being a visionary custodian of culture.

She also commended Mrs Olufunso Amosu, the wife of Gov. Ibikunle Amosu of Ogun, for her commitment to the promotion of culture.

Supreme Magazine gather that some of the notable personalities such as the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Mrs Olufunso Amosun, wife of Ogun governor attended the event.
