Rangers International FC of Enugu has expressed optimism that it will wrap-up the 2020/2021 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season with a win against visiting Plateau United.

Salisu Yusuf, Technical Adviser of the club, declared in Enugu on Wednesday, that his team would go for outright win in the match day 38 coming up on Thursday.

According to him, the match is like taking the three points at stake; we will play the way we use to play with the aim of finishing the season with a win.

He said that the concluding season was a hectic one because of the long journey with rough roads and jam-packed fixtures.

Yusuf thanked God for safe journey in the season away matches and inside the field of play as the club did not record any major injury in the cause of the league.

According to him, Rangers International will end the season on sixth or seventh and that means we did not end the season the way we want it.

“Our target for the season was to grab a continental slot but that could not come to fruition and that calls for improvement next season.’’

He noted that his team set back in the concluding season was, “consistency” which he said caused them some matches they ought to have won.

“We drew most of the matches we were supposed to win as a team and lose those we ought to have played draw.

“This set back are part of football as it happens to many good teams, so we have to start working out modalities to ensure it did not happen again,” he said.

The technical adviser said the club motivation at the moment was that everybody wants to move on to the next level.

“Everybody want to work hard and move on to the next level both the players, technical team and management,” Yusuf said.

Supreme reports that Rangers International, which currently occupies the seventh position on the league table, with 59 points after 37 matches, will play Plateau united, which is on the ninth position with 51 points.
