Taiwo Oladipupo, Head Coach of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) Volleyball team, has said that the team was set to redeem the image of the Force in the 2021 Nigeria Volleyball Premier League (NVPL), from its lowly fourth place finish in 2020.

Oladipupo who spoke in Abuja, said that the team was well prepared and ready for the other teams in the league, which gets underway on Wednesday, June 7.

He stressed that the team was ready to bring back the glory of the NPF in the volleyball premier league, by striving to win all their games in the league’s first and second phases.

“Last year, we finished in fourth position in the league, while in 2019 we ended the league in third position. We have not come to Ilorin to joke, we came for business. We want to go forward and not backwards,” he said.

He said the team was ready to put the NPF in the best position in this year’s league, urging the players to put everything they had learned during their training into the matches.

” I will advise them to be courageous in their games, they should be focused and not underrate or see any team unbeatable. We want to give the NPF a new image in volleyball, by winning the 2021 premier league trophy” , Oladipupo said.

Supreme reports that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) won the 2020 edition, with Kano Pillars volleyball club placing second and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) coming third in the male category, while the NSCDC clinched the female trophy, ahead of the NCS and the Immigration service in second and third, respectively.

Meanwhile, the first phase of the 2021 NVPL holds in Ilorin, Kwara state, from July 5 to July 18.
